Celebrate the newest poetry anthology from Tukwila’s Stories of Arrival: Refugee & Immigrant Youth Voices Poetry Project at Foster High School. In collaboration with Spice Bridge, the book launch and poetry reading will feature project poets reading from the new anthology.
Published by Seattle’s Chin Music Press, the book has poems and art created by students from 17 different countries. Co-directed by poet Merna Ann Hecht and Foster High School Multilanguage Learner Teacher Carrie Stradley, the project has just completed its ninth year.
Students from the project will present their powerful work. A new exhibition of lively poems celebrating the food of their homelands will be part of this special evening.
