Veterans Day Luncheon

We’re beyond proud to be home to many veterans and active duty military. Tukwila Parks and Recreation is celebrating their sacrifice with a very special Veterans Appreciation Luncheon at the Tukwila Community Center for veterans and their family members.

Come support Tukwila Parks and the Green Tukwila Partnership Saturday, November 19 from 10am - 1pm for their annual Green Tukwila Day! This event will focus on environmental education around healthy forests and rivers. Dig in and help plant an understory bush or shrub that will become a safe place for urban wildlife. 

Wildlife Wednesday – Amphibians in the City!

Join Tukwila Parks and Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife staff for a free evening talk to learn about urban amphibians (frog and salamander) living around us in Western Washington, including the unique species that live alongside us in our cities and suburbs.

The Seattle Seahawks and Tukwila Parks and Recreation are partnering up for a very special holiday event for veterans and their family members as part of the Seahawks organization’s “12 Days of Goodness with the Seattle Seahawks.” On December 14th, join us at the Tukwila Community Center for a star-studded event with a full lunch, prizes, photo opportunities, and of course, appearances by some of your favorite Seahawks legends.

Riverton Park Invasive Plant Removal

Riverton Park is slowly being taken over by invasive English ivy and holly. But together, we can fight back and preserve this beautiful wooded oasis. Join Forest Steward, Debbie for a mid-week work party inside the park. This is a great opportunity to learn new valuable forestry skills while also engaging with the larger community.
