Rainier Symphony Fall Classics Concert

Prepare for an evocative evening with Rainier Symphony, as we traverse expansive landscapes, soar with solo violin lyricism, and conclude with the dramatic sweep of Sibelius’s greatest symphony. Each piece delivers its own world of tone, spirit and emotion. This concert is one-night only.

  • In the Steppes of Central Asia by Alexander Borodin
  • The Lark Ascending by Ralph Vaughan Williams
  • Symphony No. 2 by Jean Sibelius

Rainier Symphony Classics Concert

Experience an unforgettable evening of timeless music as Rainier Symphony opens its concert season with a program that spans centuries and styles.

The Classics Concert will feature Beethoven’s powerful Overture to Egmont, Florence Price’s heartfelt Adoration, and Bartók’s lively Romanian Folk Dances. Audiences will also be treated to Debussy’s beloved Clair de lune in a lush orchestral arrangement by André Caplet, followed by Mendelssohn’s radiant Symphony No. 4, known as the “Italian Symphony” for its sunlit energy and spirit.

Tickets are $25. Discount tickets are available for students and seniors 62+. Children 12 and under are free.

Ring in spring with Rainier Symphony’s “The Human Spirit” concert featuring some  of our favorite classics. Rainier Symphony, a 70+ member community orchestra founded in 1981, brings together local talent—ranging from passionate students to internationally-renowned professionals—all united by their love for music.

Program highlights include the following pieces: 

    • Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov: Suite from Mlada
    • Samuel Coleridge-Taylor: Idyll for Orchestra
    • Sergei Prokofiev: Symphony No. 5

The concert will be hosted at Foster Performing Arts Center on the following dates:

Rainier Symphony Symphonic Pops Concert

From the soaring themes of Jurassic Park to the epic sounds of Star Wars, some of the most iconic film scores are coming to life at Rainier Symphony’s Symphonic Pops concert! Don’t miss this electrifying performance featuring music from legendary composers like John Williams, Hans Zimmer, and Danny Elfman.

Program highlights include:

Rainier Symphony Fall Classics Concert

Rainier Symphony is back with another evening of classical music to ring in the fall season, bringing to life beloved pieces by Schumann, Strauss, and Elgar. Performances will be held at Foster Performing Arts Center on Saturday, November 16 at 7:30pm and Sunday, November 17 at 3pm. 

Program Highlights:

    • Schumann – Manfred Overture
    • Strauss – Song Cycles featuring vocals from soprano Allison Pohl
    • Elgar – Cello Concerto with Alistair MacRae on cello

Holiday Classics with Rainier Symphony

The holidays are a time to come together and rejoice as a community.

One of our favorite ways to celebrate is with the Rainier Symphony – a distinguished, 70-member orchestra that has provided joy in the form of music for over four decades.

Their annual Holiday Concert is fast approaching, so be sure to mark your calendar and show up for a night filled with traditional favorites and carols, including Christmas Festival, Troika, and a variety of pieces from The Nutcracker.

Rainier Symphony Plays the Favorites

Rainier Symphony invites you to a special Musician’s Choice Concert on June 3rd and 4th.

Originally founded in 1981, this 70-member community orchestra is composed of musicians from around the Tukwila region and has been a staple in the Seattle music scene.

Hear favorites from resident musicians like Flight of the Bumblebee, Pirates of the Caribbean, and  Appalachian Spring: Suite!

Rainier Symphony Presents: Western Skies

Round out your October with the Rainier Symphony as they kick off their 42nd season with a twang! Grab your boots and don your stetson, this concert series is heading west. Kick back and enjoy a night of classics like The Cowboys Overture and Billy the Kid Suite. Can’t make it the first night? No worries! This is an all weekend affair with shows on both Saturday and Sunday.

The Rainier Symphony June Concert Series

The Rainier Symphony is excited to welcome you back for yet another weekend filled with inspirational music. Let this talented group of local musicians play you into summer with a line up of songs that’ll melt away winter’s grip and invite you to a jovial celebration of life, warmth, and medieval mystery. Evening performance on Saturday, June 4 at 7:30 with a matinee the following day on Sunday, June 5 at 3pm.
